ARA’s debut release “Von der Nacht” is certainly influenced by key black metal acts, the music found on this recording is by no means a mere copy of corpsepaint-cliches. With a dense, sometimes airy but simultaneously thick sound inspired by punk rock, folk and yes, black metal, “Von der Nacht” first hits you like the rusted swords of an unrelenting undead army of tribal warlords on “erwacht im leben”; but while the atmosphere changes over the rest of the record (somber pieces like “weit aus meinem körper” offer brief moments of respite), the menacing fog of aural war that surrounds you never really lifts completely.
“Von Der Nacht“ will be available as a pro-dubbed Cassette, Limited to 150 copies.
